I met Mr. Knieriem when I was a nursing student at The Elliot hospital. Even though I only spoke to him briefly, I could tell he was a genuinely kind and caring person. He made a positive impressive on me during that brief moment. He inquired about how nursing school was going, and wished me the very best. I send my sincere condolences to his family.

Mr. Knier was the best. A great guy and true outdoors man. Mr. Knier was one of my coaches for the North Warriors. He was tough, but very fair and knowledgeable. We were all better people having experienced Mr. Knier. He was an original.

John was a truly remarkable mentor to a generation of Manchester boys who loved skiing and sports. He took me on my first trip out west and encouraged me to join the Pats Peak ski team. He was a positive influence in our neighborhood for decades. He will be missed, but he leaves behind so many lives made better for knowing him.

John was my mentor, fellow ski patroller, fellow engineer, and a big part of my passion to further my medical training in order to alleviate unnecessary suffering. My heart is sad to hear of his passing and I am praying for comfort and peace for his family today.

My husband says we're married because of John. He met John skiing at Tucks, and John convinced Eric to do an OEC course (first aid course for ski patrol). Two years later I met Eric, when I joined Loon's ski patrol. We both enjoyed the company of John for years. He will be missed.

Sorry for your loss. Although I didn't know him very well, it looks like he didn't let life pass him by. Hope you find comfort in knowing that he led a full life. Our sympathies,

I rode many years with John on Trans NH Bike Ride. He was a wonderful companion and story teller and biking buddy. I remember one year after the first day's ride he met up with his wife to paddle the Connecticut River on the second day for their anniversary. Great guy who will remain in my memories.

I skied on the Pats Peak Ski Patrol for many years with John. He was great instructor and always had a answer about first aid questions asked of him. He will be sorely missed from all his family and friends! RIP brother!
