Tribute & Message From The Family

Richard Edwin Owens, 75, passed to the other side on May 24, 2021. He lived life his own way and died with dignity on his own terms. Richard was born in Springfield, Illinois to the late William and Clara (Dasher) Owens on September 19, 1945. In 1962 he joined his beloved Marine Corps and served our country for eight years. After being honorably discharged, he joined the Springfield police department.
In 1982, he moved to Manchester where he met the love of his life, Eloise (Ellie) Doucet Xintaras. They married in 1985 and Richard spent the next thirty-five happy years teaching his wife the joys of hunting and fishing and introduced her to the camping life. Richard loved the outdoors and wanted her to enjoy it with him.
Richard is survived by by his wife, Ellie; his step-daughter, Kelly Xintaras Beauchesne and her husband Jay; his two step-grandchildren, Daphne X. Beauchesne and Laurel X. Beauchesne.
There will be no calling hours. A celebration of Richard's life, per his wishes, will be held at a later date. In honor of his military service, a donation may be made to the "Wounded Warrior Project" in his name, a charity that was close to his heart. Go online to "Wounded Warrior Project" and scroll down to "Honor/Memorial Donations".
