Obituary

Stephen H. Tropp, 67, passed away on Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 10, 1952 in Abington, PA, the son of Joseph Tropp, Dorothea Tropp Ashworth, and Dennis Ashworth.

Stephen, or "Harpo" as he's known to his close friends, grew up in South Hadley, Massachusetts and attended local schools. He was an avid sports enthusiast and loved to play baseball, basketball, softball, and golf. He spent many years coaching children in Epping for the Epping Youth Athletics Association. He rarely missed the opportunity to cheer on all of New England's sports teams.

He worked in management for the Sheraton, Radisson, and Westford Regency Inn hotels, and then as a construction foreman for Genie Homes in Epping, NH.

Stephen loved to cook for his family and guests. He also loved to sing and play the flute. He loved to laugh, and he loved to make the people around him laugh. Above all, he loved his family immensely, and he was devoted to his wife and sons. He was so proud of the men that his sons have become. He will be sorely missed by his family and many good friends.

Stephen's family would like to thank the wonderful staff at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH, and the Visiting Nurse Association, for the care and compassion shown to Stephen and his family.

Stephen is survived by his wife of 29 years, Deborah, of Derry, NH; two sons, Matthew Tropp of Derry, NH and Casey Tropp of South Hadley, MA; grandson, Caden Tropp of South Hadley, MA; sister, Christine Orlen (Michael) of Greenfield, MA; two brothers, Joseph Tropp of South Hadley, MA and Michael Tropp (Elisa) of East Sandwich, MA; stepsister, Barbara Ford (Alan) of Spain; two nephews, Dana Gabriel (Harmonie) and Evan Tropp; and three nieces, Mikhaela Tropp, Olivia Tropp, and Tatum Tropp. Stephen was also predeceased by his in-laws, Edward, Eugenia, and Pamela White, with whom he had a very close relationship.
